Title: Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning
Note: Pelham City Schools is looking to fill its current vacancy related to curriculum leadership.
Qualifications:
- Requires Alabama administrative certification or have experience related to leadership in curriculum
- Master’s degree or higher
- A dynamic person characterized by integrity, intelligence, knowledge, professionalism, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic.
- Principal's experience preferred
Job Description:
- Answers directly to Superintendent
- Carries out all duties related to job as assigned by Superintendent
- Oversees personnel and programs as assigned by Superintendent
- Administers, maintains, and improves all programs and activities within field of responsibility
- Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism and ethics, working cooperatively with the Board, the Superintendent, administrators, certificated and non-certificated personnel, parents, and students
Salary and Terms of Employment
Based on Pelham City Schools salary matrix with range: Salary negotiable
12 month contract
Reports to:
Superintendent
Performance Responsibilities:
- In charge of professional development, accreditation, curriculum development, instructional resources, guidance, media specialists, evaluations, and other assigned task.
- General oversight of all programs related to teaching and learning
- Candidate will be responsible for implementation of Pelham City Schools strategic plan in the essential strands of curriculum and great educators.
Notes:
- Pelham City Schools is looking for a candidate that can continue the process of redesigning our Middle School and High School in relation to a vertically aligned student planning (4 year planning), academies, and other initiatives such as improved dual enrollment, advanced placement, and rigorous curriculum design.
Essential Functions:
Must have the ability to evaluate, support, and improve when necessary, all aspects of teaching and learning
